For the past 10 years, Be the Peace Institute has worked alongside survivors, community organizations, researchers, advocates, and government partners to help build safer, more equitable, and more peaceful communities free from gender-based violence.
On Saturday, October 17, 2026 we marked this milestone and reflect on the impact of a decade of collective action—and the work still ahead.
An afternoon of storytelling, music, reflection, community conversation, and the premiere of a short video highlighting the successes, challenges, impact, and lessons learned over the past 10 years, keep scrolling to find a link to the anniversary video, photos and reflections on 10 years of effort and possibilities for the future.
It was a true gift to gather with partners, supporters and community to share about the journey and capture the experiences, reflections, and hopes for the future from our many collaborators. We cannot do this work without you and are stronger together, and together we'll continue imagining and building a future without gender-based violence.
