VIOLENCE & HARASSMENT IN POLITICS

Women, gender-diverse people, racialized communities, and people with disabilities often face harassment, discrimination, threats, and violence when seeking or holding public office. These barriers can discourage participation in politics and continue both online and in person, including within elected institutions. The Violence & Harassment in Politics Working Group works to raise awareness of these issues and promote safer, more inclusive, and representative democratic governments.
